PlantFrame – The Miniature Living Wall Picture Frame
The PlantFrame 120 x 60cm Landscape Living Picture combines the best features of our SlimWalls and GreenWalls products in a compact, innovative design. It offers a quick and easy way to incorporate living plants into any indoor or outdoor wall, bringing a refreshing touch of greenery to your home, office, or any other space.
This PlantFrame measures 120cm in width, 60cm in height, and 10cm in depth. Made from high-quality, powder-coated steel, the frame boasts a modern aesthetic and exceptional durability. A standout feature is its self-watering system, which ensures your plants stay hydrated for up to six weeks, reducing maintenance needs. Simply connect a water pressure spray bottle to the small fitting at the top of the frame, pump to fill with water, and optionally add plant food to the water. The built-in smart chip will notify you when to stop adding water.
PlantFrame Water Level Indicator
With the assistance of a smart chip, the watering system automatically manages water distribution, ensuring your plants remain healthy. Additionally, a built-in, three-colour LED light alerts you when it’s time to refill the system. The LED is powered by a rechargeable battery, which you can easily recharge using the included plug-in charger. The LED water level indicator changes colour as you fill the system, with each colour representing the following:
- RED – The system is empty and requires filling
- BLUE – The system has water in every tray but is not completely full
- GREEN – The system is full, and you should stop filling
Installing Your PlantFrame
Installing the PlantFrame is simple, with no external plumbing or pipework required. The water reservoir fits neatly within the frame, and refilling is quick and hassle-free using a water pressure spray bottle. Its compact design makes it perfect for both indoor and outdoor spaces, offering a modern solution for any wall while remaining easy to care for. To install, attach the hanging plate to your wall, securing it with the screws and wall plugs provided. Use a spirit level across the top of the hanging plate to ensure it is level before marking and drilling your holes. Once the plate is securely attached, the PlantFrame system will simply lock into place, ready to be filled with plants and soil.
Plants Supplied
The system is available with or without plants. If you opt for the ‘No Plants’ option, the system will be supplied without plants and soil, allowing you to select your own plants and soil once the system is fixed to the wall. If you choose the ‘Outdoor Plant Selection’, the system will come with a selection of outdoor plants and our unique Biochar and Perlite soil blend. Alternatively, the ‘Indoor Plant Selection’ provides a selection of indoor plants with the same Biochar and Perlite soil blend. Simply attach the system to your wall and add the supplied plants and soil to each tray. Once fully planted, add water until the LED turns green.
Planting Your PlantFrame
The PlantFrame 120 x 60cm system is straightforward to plant. It consists of planter trays, with the 120 x 60cm system featuring three tray levels, each accommodating at least 8 plants. The system is designed to house around 24 plants in total. We recommend using plants pre-grown in 10.5cm pots or those of similar size. Place your plants in the trays and fill the remaining space with your chosen soil blend. Each tray includes a built-in wicking system that draws water and nutrients up into the soil to nourish the plants.
The system is versatile, able to support a wide range of plants, from low-light indoor varieties to sun-loving outdoor species. You can effortlessly personalise your living picture to complement your style and space. The PlantFrame is available in various sizes to suit your specific requirements.
