The manual fill GreenWalls modular living plant wall system is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Furthermore, it holds enough water to last up to two weeks, thereby eliminating the need for daily watering. You can either fill it manually with a spray bottle or hosepipe, or alternatively, connect it to a garden irrigation system. In addition, a three-colour LED on each planter tray column indicates when the system is full or when it needs refilling. Each kit includes:
- Planter trays (choose width and height)
- Pipes and connectors
- Hanging rails
- Wall plugs and screws
- Installation instructions
- CPU control box
- LED refill indicator
Moreover, the DIY kits allow you to build a single column of planter trays in your chosen width, and these can be expanded to any width by simply adding more columns.
The system can be either battery-operated (lasting 6-9 months) or plug-in, with the plug-in version including a 12V adapter and 4m cable. Depending on your choice, you’ll receive:
- Battery pack with on/off switch (for battery-operated)
- 12V adapter plug with 4m cable (for plug-in)
Sidewalls are only required for the outside edges of your overall size, if building a wall more than one column wide you will only require 1 set of sidewalls
GreenWalls systems are quick to install, low-maintenance, and significantly improve air quality. Made in the UK from recycled Steel and Aluminium, they are both durable and fully recyclable. Each planter tray stacks in 20cm high increments, and the built-in wick system ensures consistent and even watering. Watering is typically needed every three weeks in Summer and less in Winter.

LED Water Level Indicator:
The system includes a 3-colour LED indicator:
- Red: Empty—system requires water
- Blue: Adequate water level
- Green: Water full – stop filling
Recommended Soil and Fertiliser:
For optimal performance, it is recommended to use an 80% soil and 20% perlite mix with a 6-month slow-release fertiliser. For indoor systems, you may also wish to add a layer of pebbles to deter pests. Additionally, liquid fertiliser can be added using a pressure sprayer connected to the system.
