For wooden roofs lacking protection, consider adding our 1.5mm thick Rubber EPDM layer for sealing and safeguarding—simply select this option as needed. Furthermore, our store provides Steel and Aluminium edge retention trims, available separately in various color options. Designed for self-installation, these kits offer convenience. GreenRoofs Direct

Every GreenRoofs kit comes with the following layers, supplied in m2 quantities as per your requirements:

• Fully Grown Sedum Carpet layer
• Capillary Moisture Fleece Layer
• Knuaf Rockwool Growing Medium Layer
• HDPE Recycled Plastic Drainage Layer

You can also opt for the EPDM layer to be supplied with or without the required quantity of glues, simply select this option in the drop down box. We highly recommend the use of an EPDM rubber to protect your roof, the EPDM goes underneath the whole GreenRoofs system and protects your roof from water leaks for upwards of 50 years. Once you have selected your desired product, you must enter the number of metres squared of GreenRoofs sedum living roof system that you require. An example of this would be as follows:

Living roof width =10m

Living roof length = 15m

Total metres squared = 10m x 15m = 150m2 – This means you should enter 150 in the number box, then press ‘add to cart’.

Everything will arrive direct from the manufacturer on Pallets and will be ready for you to install at your convenience, we recommend that you do not leave the sedum rolled up on the pallet for more that 3 days (especially in Summer). GreenRoofs – Lightweight Layers

The GreenRoofs sedum living roof system offers a complete solution for adding living roofs to existing roof spaces and new build roofs alike. Every layer is selected to offer eco-friendly materials that not only benefit the Sedum Succulent Plants growing on the top layer, but also keeps the total weight of the living roof to a minimum. Fully Grown Sedum Carpet layer: Our sedum carpet is lightweight, very low maintenance and offer an instant colourful green roof containing an excellent range of premium sedum varieties. Sedums are drought tolerant and therefore only require watering in long spells of dry weather. All our Sedum comes pre-grown and ready to install. Each roll is grown on a layer of Coir matting and contains Sedum grown in Organic compost and nutrients, Rolls are supplied per m2 and measure between 30mm and 40mm deep. The dry weight of our Sedum carpet is 12.5kg per m2 and when saturated it will weigh around 14.7kg per m2.

Capillary Moisture Fleece Layer: Not only does our Lightweight Fleece layer help to provide the right amount of moisture to your new sedum, it also helps to suppress weeds. It’s natural capillary action helps pull water from the pocket layer below and feeds the Sedum plants, extending the moisture levels right into Summer months. The matting itself is specially made using only recycled products, so you can also feel proud that you are helping to keep the environment healthier. It’s strong, easy to handle and designed to keep the growing medium (rockwool substrate) within the system.

Knuaf Rockwool Growing Medium Layer: 50mm deep when dry and 25mm when saturated. Made from sustainably sourced various rock mixtures, our lightweight growing medium promotes extensive root distribution and plant growth. 8-10 times lighter than traditional substrates used on green roofs, which means it can be used on almost any roof without compromising its structural stability. Other benefits include: Better water distribution – feeds plants quicker, high water absorption – performs much better at rain water run off retention, Great acoustic performance – reduces noise pollution, high fire resistance – non-combustible and will not contribute to the spread of a fire at any stage.

HDPE Recycled Plastic Drainage Layer: 20mm deep recycled HDPE plastic pocket tray, designed to hold excess water which will then be used in warmer months as moisture for the Sedums. Manufactured to a 1.5mm thickness, this layer will help protect the roof from storm water penetration for the lifetime of the building and is guaranteed against deterioration for 30 years. This material is inert and, therefore, non-polluting to run-off rain water, highly resistant to water, alkalies, saline solutions and organic acids, and not affected by minerals and hydro-carbons. It is also impervious to root penetration, is rot-proof, and resistant to bacteria, fungi and other small organisms.

1.5mm EPDM rubber layer: When laying your GreenRoofs system on any unprotected roofing material such as wood we very highly recommend you first invest in the addition of an EPDM layer. This thick eco-friendly membrane will protect your roof for a lifetime and is the perfect roof seal to sit underneath your living roof layers. You can opt to buy just the EPDM or it can also be supplied with all the necessary glues to complete the installation, simply choose your requirements in the drop down bar above.
